It has been a fantastic week here in western North Carolina...trees and flowers in bloom and a wonderfully cool climate! Just a couple of snapshots for your enjoyment...the clematis blooms right outside our door and the lake is a few miles away enroute to Waynesville!

Beautiful Waynesville

These flowers in front of the Waynesville sign were just too pretty to pass up! The weather was in the blissful 60s most days during our visit, but at this writing, it's 34 degrees and dropping with snow flurries...and yes, it's APRIL 13th!

Our Latest Grandchildren???

Well...sort of...this is Adam and his friend Tim with Adam's brood of chickens! Yep, a gentleman farmer...who'd a thunk it??

Lumberjack Competition

Attended part of the Mid-Atlantic States Intercollegiate Woodmen's Meet at Haywood Community College on Saturday...It was very interesting...amazing skills! Here are a couple of shots from that event.

A Taste of Chocolate

Sharing a couple of shots from a fundraiser we attended on our recent trip to NC...A Taste of Chocolate is a benefit to assist the Haywood-Jackson Volunteer Center. Amateurs, Professionals and Bed & Breakfasts provide their BEST chocolate goodies for tasting...more chocolate than I've ever seen under one roof! It was a blast and delicious!

Cold Mountain Soldier

This photo is from Bethel Cemetery where W.P. Inman of Cold Mountain fame is buried. We were unable to locate his grave as it was quite chilly and we searched for awhile, but did grab this shot of several graves marked with Confederate flags.

Beautiful Mountain Snow!!!!

We wish you all a blessed and prosperous New Year! For our first post of 2008, we want to share where we spent New Year's Day...in the beautiful NC mountains, enjoying about 4 inches of SNOW! It was fun to be snowed in for a couple of days, but we don't plan to move to Green Bay...this stuff can get old fast!

We're busy planning our calendar for 2008...lots of things in the works. January and early February are great months to get those family portraits done, before we get busy with Easter and Senior photo appointments, so call now to schedule your appointment.

Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit us in November 2008, so remember to check back for appointment times.
Christmas isn't over, though...we still offer a Christmas sitting with special pricing...hurry and book your appointment so we can get Christmas cards ordered in time!

Fall in Beautiful NC!

Well, it's been quite awhile since I've posted here (as my good friend DS has often reminded me!) but I'm back, having just returned from a wonderfully refreshing stay in beautiful western NC. Tim and I were privileged to visit at the peak of leaf season there, as these photos attest. We also have been privileged to meet several wonderful new friends, some pictured here. I'll be posting photos from the Haywood Orchestra and the SARGE's benefit on our website, so please check them out, and let us hear from you. Enjoy!

NC is Heaven!

Just wanted to share a few photos I've taken over the past couple of months on our visits to the North Carolina mountains. And, yes, the swan was ANGRY...apparently they don't like to be disturbed when they're nesting! She chased me quite a distance and pecked at my ankles and the seat of my pants...I'm sure it was very entertaining to see. We LOVE the mountains and enjoy visiting as often as we can. Hope you enjoy these images!

Our New Granddaughter

One of the most exciting things that has occurred for us this year is that in February, we became GRANDPARENTS! Yep, we're now Bebe and Poppy to a beautiful young lady named Ellie! Can't wait to see her again (soon!), but wanted to share her with everyone! We're sorta proud...and no, this isn't my photograph, it was made by her mother who we hope will be doing more and more photography and maybe of other little dolls, too!!
"Magic is a sudden opening of the mind to the wonder of existence. It is a sense that there is much more to life than we usually recognize; that we do not have to be confined by the limited views that our family, our society, or our own habitual thoughts impose on us; that life contains many dimensions, depths, textures, and meanings extending far beyond our familiar beliefs and concepts."
_John Welwood
